Game: St Duthus FC v Shetland FC (Jock Mackay Memorial Cup Quarter Final)
Date: Saturday, April 7th, 2018
Venue: The Links Playing Fields, Tain
Referee: Gavin Dearie
Assistants: Malcolm Macleod & Craig Walker
ST DUTHUS will play their final home game of the season tomorrow, and in doing so, they will welcome Shetland Football Club to the Links for the very first time, to contest their Quarter Final tie in the Jock Mackay Memorial Cup.
The tie is being played now at the fourth attempt, having previously been postponed due to the weather, travel issues and unavailable playing surfaces. Alas, the game now goes ahead, albeit much later in the season than we would have preferred. Saints manager Stuart Ross faces a team selection struggle as the team will be without a number of key players.
Not much is known about tomorrow's opponents from the Isles, other than the fact that they made easy work of Thurso in the first round, defeating the Vikings 3-0 at Sir George's Park in February. Their recent honours include the Milne Cup, which they compete for against Orkney each year, and won last September.
The game kicks off at the slightly earlier time of 1.30pm tomorrow. As ever, hot food, teas, coffee and snacks will be available on sale, along with our full colour match programme.
