Inverness Athletic 0 St. Duthus 5

St. Duthus visited Inverness Royal Academy for the third time this season and came away with yet another win as they secured maximum points in the South section of the Football Times Cup to advance to the final.

The deadlock was broken on 20 minutes when Liam Rostock opened the scoring, netting his ninth goal in nine games with a stunning effort from the edge of the box which crashed in off the crossbar.

Saints doubled their advantage when Rostock struck again just before the interval, the wing man finding space just inside the area to power a shot past Sandy Stephen, who could only get a touch to the ball as it sailed into the far corner.

Four minutes after the break birthday boy Rostock netted his hat-trick - his first as a St. Duthus player - and it came via penalty kick after Ben Bruce had been fouled in the box. The experienced forward man made no mistake with a well struck effort down the middle of goal from 12 yards.

It looked like all-she-wrote for the game as time ticked away, but not to be outdone, Ben Bruce continued his run of scoring in every game he has played this season with two late goals, in the 88th and 91st minute of the game.

The win rounded off Saints' participation in the South qualifying section of the Football Times Cup, with wins recorded over Invergordon, Lewis & Harris and Inverness Athletic over the piece. They will meet Golspie Sutherland in the final, who have mathematically secured qualification on the basis of a superior head-to-head record, but still have one round of fixtures to play.
